We put the walkability of our new residence to the test today and did two things most people would never dream of doing without a car: went grocery shopping and went to the doctor.
Lily has been sick forever now, but last night she developed a cough that kept all of us up. We tried our
essential oils, but when she kept coughing we decided to take her to the doctor. Ben worked from home today so he was able to take her in. He had to take two buses and walk quite a bit to get there, but it all worked out. Apparently she slept the entire way there and back in the
Ergo. We weren't surprised to find out that it's just a virus, so we are gearing up for another long night tonight.

| Lily refused to wear pants today so she went out in the rain wearing a skirt and her Hello Kitty boots. Gotta love those chubby legs :) |
While Ben and Lily were at the doctor, Tommy and I grabbed our
Chariot and walked to the grocery store. Man, I love that thing. It is the best bike trailer out there, but it's also a really convenient stroller and shopping cart. It folds up basically flat, which is essential for our new tiny living space.

| Fits groceries for a week or two kids! |
Tommy is loving his new bunk bed. He literally kisses the guard rails, he loves it so much. On numerous occasions I have found him sitting alone quietly playing up on his bed. He is a kid who needs his own space. He loves having an area over which he has complete autonomy, which he has never had until now. We told him he can decorate the walls around his bed however he likes, which ought to be entertaining for all of us.
We taught Tommy how to play Hangman today. One of the things I love about homeschool is that I can play a game with my child and have fun with him while he learns essential literacy skills. I taught him about vowels, he sounded out words and figured out which letters go where, and he practiced writing his letters. He had so much fun he was giddy and begged to play more when it was time for bed.
Other good news today is that we have moved enough boxes around to actually have our couch back! Hooray for a place to sit!
