It's Always Fun When Grammy Comes

This week my mom came to town. It was a much needed break for all of us. We got lucky and enjoyed the two warmest days of the year so far before it cooled off and rained again. We sure love that Grammy!

Lily and Grammy read the book Dinosaur Fun at least a hundred times. It's a cute book with big colorful illustrations. It shows kids how to make different kinds of dinosaurs using different art mediums, but my mom made it come to life, which Lily loved. They had certain actions and phrases for each page. It was adorable.
There were lots of tea parties, picnics, and camping trips, all from the comfort of home.
We tried to give my mom a real Portland experience, which meant food trucks and Salt and Straw ice cream.
The second day she was here the weather was so incredible (clear, sunny, high in the 90's) that we went to a beach just off the Columbia River in Vancouver. The water was freezing, but the sand was hot. The kids had an amazing time playing at the beach with their buckets and shovels. We sat out in the sun for about four hours. Best. Day. Ever.
We played at a few different parks, ate some amazing pizza from Via Chicago, and did a lot of hanging out at home with Grammy. We love you, Grammy, and we miss you so much!
